I loved the fingering weight so much I had to come back and give the DK a try as well! It’s really difficult for me to find heavier weighted sock yarn with a 75/25 blend of natural fibers and nylon — and there’s no sense in using merino for a pair of socks. This is an excellent solution to that problem and I have so many ideas for how to use these yarns!
Here’s the breakdown of what I love about these Lankava yarns:
– Color: it’s hard to find a good tonal in a non superwash that isn’t 100% acrylic. These colors are rich, vibrant, and lovely. I picked up about… eh… eight of them? And each one is exactly what I hoped it would be. That Pesto is to die for!
– Feel: I’m very, very big on texture and if something gives me even the slightest ick, I’m not going to work with this. Somehow this has the touchability of a merino sock with the halo and body of an Scandinavian-style fiber.
– Function: Excellent for colorwork or cables. I have to image it would work just as well for lace but I’ve not had the chance to try that yet!
– Durability: While I’ve not had the chance to really put this fiber through its paces, I can already tell that it is a BEAST. I’ve no worries about how well this is going to hold up.
