50 Day Cardigan Challenge, Part 2
Share
The Perfect Date has come and gone, so I owe you an update on my 50 Day Cardigan Challenge. Short version: I got it done, but not quite in time. The main reason was procrastination, I didn't use my remaining 30 days wisely, then tried to get it all done in the last 24 hours.Â
20 Days to Go
31 hours of work

After I got the increases section knit again I got far enough to split for the sleeves.Â
16 Days to Go
32 and a half hours of work

Got to the end of the skein of See. Checking to see if it's at a good spot to switch colors.
13 Days to Go
34 hours of work

Finally got to start on Wait. Since the colors are inverted, the plan always was to include both. I just didn't want a color change and line right across my bust.Â
9 Days to Go
37 hours of work

More rows of the Wait color, plugging along steadily but somewhat slowly.Â
7 Days to Go
43 hours of work

Since I'm starting to run out of time at this point, I'm making sure I'm getting stitches in where I can, including when at Nash Yarn Fest.
6 Days to Go
45 and a half hours of work

Finished a skein of Wait, switched back to See.Â
2 Days to Go
50 hours of work

At midnight on the 23rd I got to the bottom hem. At this point I decided that I had until the end of the 25th to finish the project.Â
Last Day
64 hours of work

I basically knit all day. The above picture was taken around 3 PM. At midnight I still had a couple of inches on the cuff of the second sleeve left.Â
An Hour Past Midnight
66 and a half hours of work

I finally bound off the last stitches about an hour into the 26th. I didn't make it quite on time for my self-imposed, unimportant deadline, but that's ok. I still have a fabulous cardigan.Â
Finishing
It took me a couple of days between soaking the cardigan and getting it to dry out. It was finally done-done on the 28th.Â
