Just a heads up: Many of the pattern links in Designer Spotlight posts are to Ravelry. I recognize the site isn't accessible to all. To find alternate sources for the designer's patterns I encourage you to check out their Instagram linked at the top of the post.

Designer Spotlight - Aleksandra Sołowianiuk

Aleksandra Sołowianiuk of @vert.and.rose

Aleksandra is a knitwear designer based in the United Kingdom who creates gorgeous size-inclusive patterns. She started in 2022, and has created a beautiful collection. To honor her heritage, each of her patterns has a Polish girl's name.

The patterns range from socks to mitts to sweaters, and have features like lace details, bobbles, and even brioche. All of the designs have a distinctly feminine feel, and are fit for royalty.

Strawberry Pouch Bag Charm

Strawberry Pouch Bag Charm is a sweet little project to use up your scraps. Are you tired of digging for your purse Chapstick at the bottom of the bag? Tie one of these to the strap, and it'll always be within easy reach. The strawberry is knit bottom up and is topped off with a bit of colorwork and an i-cord strap. What a perfect job for your Cordsmith

And if you prefer something a bit tarter, there's also a Lemon version.

Zosia Wrap Cardigan

Zosia Wrap Cardigan is a light and flowy wrap around cardigan with a lacy design on the front and sleeves. It's a very versatile piece that will work with a flowy summer dress or a t-shirt and jeans. There are several ways to add shaping to the cardigan so that you can get the perfect fit for your body.

The pattern is written for Aran weight yarn, but I think holding two strands of Novita Helene would also be a great option for this design.

Anita Sweater

Anita Sweater is a top-down, puff-sleeved raglan sweater covered in lace and topped off with a picot neck. It is the perfect example of a romantic knit.

The new LAINE x Novita Signature DK is the right weight of yarn for this pattern, and the color choices are just right for that romantic vibe.

Marysia Cardigan

Marysia Cardigan is a beautiful cardigan with an all over faux cable design. That means there's no need for a cable needle to get this great look.

Another great pattern for LAINE x Novita Signature DK, and hold that with a strand of Novita Edith for a wonderful luxury finish.

Yarn and Tools for The Bag Charm

The Pouch Bag Charms (Strawberry or Lemon) are adorably cute and exceptionally functional. Each only takes around 60 m of DK weight yarn, so they're great for using scraps left from other projects. Or, if you want to make a bunch for gifts, Lankava Mainio DK weight yarn is perfect for these.

You'll definitely want to make sure you grab yourself a Cordsmith for the i-cords. Create three stitches in one movement, and crank out i-cord in mere minutes.
