Charlotte Stone of @stoneknits
Charlotte creates colorful and whimsical designs featuring animals, games, food, hobbies, and more. She especially loves knitted socks, which get a lot of use in her home near Zurich, Switzerland. Originally from England, she learned to knit as a child, and really got swept away with the craft after her first daughter was born.
In addition to her vast selection of individual patterns, Charlotte has written two books: Charming Colorwork Socks, and Joyful Colorwork Socks. Her designs have also been included in both volumes of 52 Weeks of Socks from Laine
Tiptoe Through The Tulips
Tiptoe Through The Tulips is a cuff down socks with one of spring’s first flowers. After daffodils, they're usually the next flower to come up in my garden, but they have so many more colors. The pattern lends itself well to use up scraps for a variety of different colored tulips, or you can use just one color for all of them. Try a variegated yarn for multicolored tulips. Or duplicate stitch just one tulip in a different color.
This pattern calls for fingering-weight yarn, so Lankava Sulo is perfect for it. Use Pesto as the main color, and pick your favorites for the blooms. Pistachio is great for the leaves and stems. I Heart Socks is a sock design full of love! They're covered in hearts from cuff to toe, and a great way to show love to a special someone, including yourself. Another great design where you can play with colors. Use traditional reds and pinks, or go wild with your favorite color combinations. Another fingering-weight pattern! Chili, Cherry, Beetroot, Cotton Candy, and Desert Rose are the pinks and reds in Lankava Sulo. Add Lilac for a touch of purple, or try any of the other colors for a different twist on hearts.
Broccoli Sockoli Socks
Broccoli Sockoli Socks have happy little smiling broccoli florets on the cuff and more at the toe. Broccoli is a pretty vegetable flower-like florets, and it's also very healthy. Once I realized what I didn't like was over-cooked broccoli, I have come to enjoy it quite a bit.
Use Lankava Sulo in Pesto and Pistachio for the happy florets, and Coffee for the dirt of the main sock. Or pick whatever color you'd like to pair with your happy vegetables.
Herding Cats socks are a whimsical design that is sure to delight any cat lover. The design is purrrrrfect for using up scrap yarns. Make all the kitties a single color, use a different color for each row, or use variegated yarn to make calico cats! The pattern has a no-wrap short row heel, and they're knitted top down with a ribbed cuff.
Another perfect candidate for Lankava Sulo. Lots of great kitty colors: all the grays (Fog, Smoke, Soot), Snow and Salty Licquorice for black and white cats. Cinnamon, Coffee, and Sand for different browns. And Curry or even Saffron for those ginger rascals.
