Designer Spotlight - Hannemari Design
Share
Despite being from Finland, Hannemari of @hannemaridesign did not get bit by the knitting bug until adult age. Her design journey started with a pair of socks, and she has not slowed down since then.
Hannemari's designs are full of lace and cables, and give very soft and feminine vibes. In addition to socks, you'll find sweaters, mittens, hats, shawls, dresses, bags, and more in her pattern collection. And if that wasn't enough, she has a book coming out this fall!
Here are a couple of my picks from her portfolio:
Helmi top is the perfect summer top. Wool for summer? Absolutely! Its unique properties make it a fabulous fiber for any season. Scroll down for more details on this pattern.
Vain Minulle (Just For Me) is a knee-high, cuff-down sock design covered in lace and cables that you must knit for yourself. Pick your favorite color to make them in a single shade, or mix things up by using different colors for each section. Lankava Lysti has 23 beautiful colors to choose from for these socks.
Amabel Tee is a top-down seamless knit, with a beautiful lace and cable yoke. It's a versatile design that works just as well with jeans as a sparkly sequined skirt. It's made from DK-weight yarn, and Mainio offers a lot of color choices to pick from.
Maggie dress is a versatile design that can be dressed up or dressed down. It has several options for the collar and sleeves to allow you to customize the dress to your style. You can make this dress for summer or winter by changing the yarn. For a wool option, Mainio is a great DK-weight yarn with lots a great color options to choose from.
Helmi is a quick knit with a simple shape and just the right amount of texture at the edges. It is perfect for layering, like over swimwear, or on its own. Wool is breathable as well as naturally moisture wicking and dirt resistant. It's just as perfect for summer as winter.
Lankava Helli is a superwash treated 100% Merino wool yarn. It has been awarded the highest I-value according to the OEKO-Tex 100 standard. It is available in 12 beautiful solid colors.
Helli is a bit lighter than the yarn used in the pattern, but a quick swatch will help you pick the right size to knit.
