Maarit of @sweetsandsocks on Instagram is a knitwear designer from Finland. She has been publishing patterns since the end of 2020, and her collection has grown to 126 designs in that short time (make that 127, a new one just dropped!). The designs she has created include many gorgeous colorwork socks and mittens, beautiful cowls, warm beanies, shawls, tops, and many other garments and accessories. There are even dresses for Barbie!
Not all of Maarit's patterns are in English (yet), but I've picked several that are.
Harmonia is a fluffy basic beanie that knits up quickly and keeps you warm. It's knit with bulky weight Lempi yarn. Scroll down for more details on this pattern.
Jewel is a pattern for colorwork mittens with a diamond motif. It is perfect for single or multiple colors, depending on the look you want. They're knit with Aran-weight yarn so they'll keep your fingers warm and knit up up quickly.
Soleado is a lacy cowl that's perfect for milder days when you need just a bit more coverage. It's knit with thinner fingering-weight yarn, and the lace pattern keeps it lighter while still allowing you to keep your neck warm.
Iiris is a pattern for cable knit socks with a touch of lace that's easy enough for beginners. The pattern has two sizes, and is easy to adjust for a longer or shorter foot. They're knit cuff down with DK-weight yarn.
I'm sure you can easily guess that Harmonia means harmony in Finnish. This beanie is a simple design made with bulky weight yarn. That means it will knit up quickly, and definitely keep you warm. The base pattern is written for about a 55-60 cm (21.5-23.5 in) circumference, but also includes the stitch counts for adjusting bigger or smaller.
Lempi is a 100% wool bulky weight yarn that's soft and fluffy. It comes in colors as soft as the yarn itself. The sample pictured is made in Lavender.
