Just a heads up: Many of the pattern links in Designer Spotlight posts are to Ravelry. I recognize the site isn't accessible to all. To find alternate sources for the designer's patterns I encourage you to check out their Instagram linked at the top of the post.

Designer Spotlight - Ninni Enlund

Ninni Enlund of @handmadeby_ninni

Ninni is a knitwear designer and an avid knitter from Finland. She lives in western Finland with her partner and two children. She has been knitting since she was 7 years old, and today she also creates her own knitting patterns.

Ninni’s goal as a designer is to inspire others to knit and create something beautiful with their needles. Her catalog includes designs for adults as well as children, and ranges from socks and mittens to tops and sweaters. Right now she’s wrapping up the #AutumnGlowKAL for socks on her profile.

Joona Baby Set

Joona Baby Set is the perfect selection for your new bundle of joy or as a gift. It includes a bonnet, mittens, and socks featuring a rhythmic textured stitch pattern.

The pattern is written for DK weight yarn, and the suggested choice is a merino, since it will be soft and cozy. Lankava Helli is a 100% superwash merino yarn, though it is a sport-weight. Holding two strands together would get you closer to the DK. Just swatch to make sure you get gauge.

Köynnös Top

Köynnös Top is a light summer top with a vine lace motif along the hem. The top is knit top down and has a sleek and clean silhouette. The lace along the hem twists like a sprouting stem, and is reminiscent of climbing vines.

The design calls for DK weight yarn in a cotton-linen blend, which is a perfect material for a summer top.

Liplatus Tee

Liplatus Tee evokes the gently rippling waves under the dock. The top down circular yoke sweater plays with simple contrasts and an airy texture.  It's light, breathable, and effortless to wear.

The design is written for sport-weight yarn, and Lankava Helli is a great choice for this project. The 100% superwash merino means it's soft, and with the airy texture of this top wool will be a perfectly fine option.

Joona Socks

Joona Socks are knit top down, and have a simple, rhythmic texture. The design stretches all the way to the toes on top of the socks, while the sole is a nice, smooth stockinette. The pattern has size options from EU 36 all the way to EU 47.

Yarn for Joona Socks

The yarn for the Joona socks is a DK, and for socks that means the perfect choice is Lankava Mainio. 23 solid colors to choose from, and eight gorgeous multi-colored options to suit every preference.
