Satu Tolvanen of @noitametsa
Satu is the Head Witch of Noitametsä and a designer of magical knitwear patterns. Satu wanted to create a place where her soul was free to create the way she wants to. She has always been interested in folklore, mysticism, fantasy, and the witchy and magical side of life. In Noitametsä she has built a place where she is free to be exactly the person she wants to be.
Satu weaves mysticism, lore, and spells from a time gone by into her designs. Various crafts have been a part of her life since she was a child, and she constantly wants to learn new things and create. She has several patterns available in English, and I think you're going to love them.
Kallovie
Kallovie is a pair of stranded colorwork mittens with a skulls and bone motif. The design is striking and eye-catching. The mittens are designed with a thumb gusset for a great fit, and there are options for two different sizes. The colorwork design is challenging, which makes the finished project that much more rewarding.

Olipakerran
Olipakerran is a and absolutely gorgeous long, flowing dress. It is knit top down, and the sleeve and hem lengths are easy to adjust. Since it is knit with slightly bigger needles than most sweaters, and from alpaca silk yarn it is warm and light, like a hug made of yarn.
The pattern is written for a worsted weight Alpaca/silk blend yarn. I don't currently have that exact yarn in my shop, but I would love to experiment with either Novita Aino or Novita Helene for this pattern. It would require some serious math, as neither of those yarns are the same weight as the one in the pattern. But the fiber content would probably create a similar warm hug of a dress.
Tuonen Karja
Tuonen Karja is a pair of stranded colorwork socks with magical, gothic, and mystical bulls from the beyond. The cuff features mystical shapes, and the bulls' eyes are duplicate stitched with red. The socks are knitted cuff down, and the calf circumference is about 36-38 cm.
The socks are made with fingering weight yarn which makes Lankava Sulo a fantastic choice. Soot as the main color and Pistachio as the contrast color will provide a look very much like the sample.
Raven and A Coin
Raven & a Coin is a bold and beautiful top-down circular yoke sweater. The yoke has a raven skull motif with coins that repeat at the hem and cuffs. The fit makes it a great unisex option. In addition to charts, the pattern includes photo tutorials for provisional cast on and Wrap & Turn (short rows).
The pattern is written for DK-weight yarn, making Lankava Mainio a perfect option for this project. Soot is a lovely heathered black that works for as the main color. Curry will give you a golden yellow for the coins, and Snow or Fog can be used for the skulls, depending on how bright you want them to be.
Yarns for Kallovie
Kallovie is written for an Aran-weight yarn that is an exact match to Lankava Lysti: a 75/25 blend of superwash wool and polyamide. Lysti now has 26 solid colors to choose from, providing for tons of combinations for this design. Salty Licquorice and Snow give you mittens like the sample. You could also use Soot and Fog for a softer version. Or maybe use Cotton Candy for the contrast color for a fun twist. What color combination would you suggest?
