Designer Spotlight - Vert and Rose

Aleksandra of @vert.and.rose is a knitwear based in the United Kingdom who creates gorgeous size-inclusive patterns. She started creating patterns in 2022, and has created a beautiful collection over the last couple of years. Aleksandra honors her Polish heritage by giving all of her patterns Polish girls’ names.

Aleksandra's preferred aesthetic is romantic and a bit cottage core. She enjoys The Gilmore Girls and older romantic movies. The patterns in the Vert and Rose collection reflect this aesthetic, and range from socks to mitts to sweaters, and have delicate and feminine features like lace details, bobbles, and even brioche.

The Malwina Sweater is a top-down raglan sweater which has beautiful cable detailing on the sleeves. Even the raglan increases are done with cables. The sweater is knit with Aran-weight yarn, so it will knit up much faster than you would expect.

The sweater is designed with about 8 cm (3 in) of positive ease, and the final bust measurement goes up to 163 cm (64 in).

The Zosia Wrap Cardigan is a light and flowy wrap-around cardigan with a lacy design on the front and sleeves. This pattern allows for adjustments in many different spots so that you can end up with the perfect fit for you. The tie at the waste gives it a ballerina feel, and makes it perfect for wearing with dresses. The brushed Alpaca Silk used makes it extra soft, and almost ethereal.

This cardigan is designed to have about 9-15 cm (3.5-6 in) of positive ease and the final bust measurement is up to 168 cm (66 in).

The Marysia Socks are delicate ribbed socks with faux cable details, and a picot cuff. Ribbing throughout the sock allows them to fit snugly, and the faux cable detail gives them a bit of interest. The picot edge gives the socks an extra feminine touch, and there is an alterative plain cuff in the pattern as well.

The pattern has sizes from Small with 56 stitches to Extra Large with 80 stitches. They're made with fingering-weight yarn making them warm enough to keep your toes warm, but thin enough to easily fit into your shoes.

The Anita Sweater is one of Aleksandra's more recent designs, a top-down, puff-sleeved raglan sweater which is covered in lace and topped off with a picot neckline. The design is flowy and romantic, and works beautifully with skirts as well as jeans.

The sweater is knit with DK-weight yarn, making it a great transition piece between seasons. The sweater goes up to a bust size of 178 cm (70 in) which includes 8-15 cm (3-6 in) of positive ease.

I think this design would look great in Mainio in Cinnamon. It's a wonderful, warm color that will be perfect in the fall. If you'd like to make your own, I've put together a yarn kit to make ordering simple. Just pick a size and pick a color, and we'll get it right out to you.
