Heini designed the Lumous Socks for the Finnish knitting book called Suuri suomalainen toivesukkakirja 4 - Sukat kaikilla mausteilla, and it was published in Finnish in the fall of 2021.
The idea of the book was to present sock patterns with an extra twist. Heini wanted the Lumous Socks to have a lot of sparkle, so she knitted them with glitter yarn and added some hand-sewn Swarovski crystals to the center front of the socks.
Lumous Socks are also lovely without any decorations, as their motifs are beautifully decorative down to the smallest details. And by the way, Lumous is a Finnish word which means an enchantment. How beautiful word in Finnish and in English!

Lumous - narrower size:

Foot size: EU 38–39 / US Women's 7.5-8
Upper calf circumference: suits best for about 35–38 cm / 13¾-15 in calf
Sock measurements: Leg length (including the cuff and heel) 46 cm / 18 in. Foot length is 24,5 cm / 9½ in.
Needles: 2,0 mm / US 0 for the cuff and 2.5 mm / US 1.5 (for the stranded knit) (5 double-pointed needles) + a darning needle for duplicate stitch
Yarn: Fingering weight 400 m / 100 g (437 yd / 3.5 oz), Lankava Sulo
Colors: Main color 109 grams, Contrasting color 46 g
Gauge: 32 stitches and 35 rows in stranded knitting = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in)
