The Lunar Socks was first published in Finnish at 2023 in the knitting book called Villasukkabuffet - Toinen kattaus. The Moon themed socks had been on my mind for a long time, because the subject is very dear to me and I find it interesting. The enchanting and beautiful, ever-changing Moon has charmed me and I never get tired of looking at it.
The Lunar socks presents the regular phases of the Moon, from new moon through crescent to full moon, after which the phases of the moon begin to decrease again towards the new moon. Full circle of that amazing wanderer.

Lunar - narrower size:

Foot size: EU 38–39 / US Women's 7.5-8 (41-42 / US Women's 10.5-11)
Upper calf circumference: suits best for about 35–38 cm / 13 3/4-15 in calf
Sock measurements: Leg length (including the cuff and heel) 38 cm / 15 in. Foot length in size 38–39 is about 24 cm/9 1/2 in and in size 41–42 about 26 cm/10 1/4 in.
Needles: 2.5 mm / US 1.5 (5 double-pointed needles) for the colorwork and 2.00 mm / US 0 for ribbing + a darning needle for duplicate stitch
Yarn: Fingering weight 400 m / 100 g (437 yd / 3.5 oz), Lankava Sulo
Colors: Main color 100 grams
Contrasting color 60 g
Gauge: 32 stitches and 35 rows in stranded knitting = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in
