Jamie of @pacificknitco
If you haven’t seen Jamie’s designs, I’d like to know what the rock you’re living under is made of. I hope it’s gneiss. Her signature product, the Doodle Decks, are a collection that just keeps on growing. Mix and Match the designs to your heart's content for the perfect knit.Â
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Jamie at a couple of events, and she is just as lovely as she appears on her social media. Her home base is in Seattle, Washington, but she attends many events around the country. If you get the chance to go to one, make sure you say hi!
Check out what she has to offer:
Base Doodle Patterns
Base doodle patterns include cowls, socks, hats, mitts, and more - even a stocking - which can all be customized with the doodles. All the base patterns have the math done for you. All you have to do is pick which doodle pattern you want to add.Â
Doodle Decks
Doodle decks are playing card sized decks of cards with patterns you can mix and match within and between decks. Each of the core decks has 51 charts, 2 patterns, and a how-to card. In addition to a Basic Core deck, there is one for each of the four seasons.Â
Chart Expansions
Chart expansions are smaller sets of doodles with all kinds of fun designs in different themes. Each has 24 charts, 2 patterns, and a how-to card. There are themes based on places, holidays, creatures (real and imagined), genres, and more. and Jamie keeps creating new ones! There are generic places like "Tropical", "Desert", or "Ocean", and Destination Decks are for specific places like Seattle, NYC, and London.

Jamie also frequently releases fun freebies. For April Fool's 2024 she created a Potato Doodle Cowl, which was initially supposed to be just a joke, but turned out to be such a great idea it actually became a real thing. In 2025, she made a Cheese Doodle Cowl for April 1st. She'll also drop charts on her Instagram, so keep an eye out!
Yarn for Doodles
Almost all of the Base Doodle patterns are designed for DK-weight yarn. Mainio is a fabulous selection for these projects, with 23 base colors to mix and match with the doodles. There is a pattern for Doodle Socks in fingering-weight yarn, and for that you can use Sulo, which comes in all the same base colors.
If you're having trouble deciding which colors to start with, you can just order yourself an Ultimate Colorwork Kit, and get one of each color.
