Designer Spotlight - Park Williams

Park Williams of @parknknit is not only a knitwear designer, she's also an actor. And that's not really surprising once you get a peek at her bio and the kind of things she enjoys. She's currently based in Chicago which seems like a great place to find inspiration for her designs.
Park wants her patterns to be fun, and to give people permission to create and play. She wants knitters to feel like they are making something special. And the fun can definitely be found in the colors and shapes of her designs.
Knitorious RBG is a design inspired by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The pattern is written with both top-down and bottom-up instructions. And there’s a baby version, too.
Shakespeare In The Park is a bottom-up cropped sweater with fabulous a bishop sleeve. Since it's made with super bulky yarn this will be a fast project.
Spirit Week Stripes is a simple, relaxed fit sweater in classic stripes. It has top-down construction with short row shaping, and is written for worsted weight yarn. Pick your favorite team's colors, and make the perfect sweater to wear while cheering them on. Mainio has a lot of options to pick from.
Twinkle Tree Skirt is a great stash busting project to dress up your tree. It's knit flat from the top down, and has a big bow at the closure. Not only is it adorable, it can also be worn as a cloak!
Knitorious RBG is one of Park’s older patterns, but I feel it really needs to be spotlighted right now. It features stranded colorwork on the yoke inspired by Ruth Bader Ginsburg's iconic dissent collar. The fit is slightly oversized to emulate a judge's robes, which is also echoed in the bishop sleeves.
The Lankava sock yarns are fabulously versatile yarns that work for all kinds of projects, not just socks. Mainio is a great option for this project. Snow and Salty Liquorice are a perfect pairing.
